Looking for a Behaviour Interventionist to work with my 18 yr old son in our home school program with Self-Design under the direction of a Learning Consultant and Occupational Therapist.

About you: You have experience working with a non-verbal child, you are fun and energetic and have a non-judgemental approach. You are willing to learn and take direction to follow out a routined plan. You are reliable and can be committed to a consistent schedule.

The role: Working part-time during school hours (hours to be discussed and determined, anywhere from 3-6 hours per day) in our home in Port Moody and in the community (library, parks, taking transit, etc.). You will spend your time working with our son on communication goals, academic targets, self-help and independent living skills, and going for outings in the community.

Requirements:





- previous experience working with a low functioning autistic teen
- keen desire to work with special needs children
- experience with RPM (Rapid Prompt Method) an asset
- criminal record check
- driver's license and own vehicle an asset
- available during school hours, Monday to Friday
- ability to swim, or comfortable in the water ideal but not required
- Competencies and attributes: patience, non-judgemental, willingness to learn

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
