We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a construction and contractor-focused organization in Burlington, Ontario on a Long-term Contract basis. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed financial work, maintains strong accuracy under deadlines, and can manage a steady flow of invoices and payment activities. You will play an important part in supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations while contributing to reporting, documentation, and broader finance team support.

Responsibilities:

- Review invoices received through digital channels and mail for multiple entities, confirming amounts, quantities, and required backup documents before processing.
- Compare supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery records, resolving inconsistencies with internal teams and vendors as needed.
- Enter, code, and post payable transactions in SYSPRO with precision, including employee reimbursements, recurring billings, and intercompany charges.
- Track supplier payment terms closely to help secure eligible discounts and improve payment timing.
- Prepare cheque runs and electronic fund transfers for review and release in accordance with approval procedures.
- Maintain complete and well-organized accounts payable records to support audit readiness and efficient document retrieval.
- Provide backup assistance for daily cash application tasks, bank-related processing, and updates to the accounts receivable ledger.
- Support month-end activities by helping with general ledger reviews, account analysis, and finance reporting requests.
- Assist with office administrative needs such as ordering supplies and handling additional duties assigned by the Finance Director.
- Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice coding, verification, and payment preparation.




- Strong data entry accuracy with the ability to process high volumes of financial information efficiently.
- Proficiency with SYSPRO for invoice entry and accounts payable processing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tracking, reconciliation, and reporting tasks.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow through on invoice, purchase order, and receipt matching issues.
- Familiarity with cheque payments, electronic transfers, and standard payment control practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines in a busy finance environment.
