Our premium dermatology clinic is located in the quiet suburbs of Red Deer area, offering an extensive spectrum of medical and cosmetic services.

Job description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is reliable, responsible, personable and professional eager to learn the nuances of the practice. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a must.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

Medical

- Efficiently filling exam rooms with booked and walk-in patient appointments, prepare patients for exam by the Doctor (ie. remove any necessary clothing when appropriate).
- Maintaining efficient general patient flow within the clinic while exhibiting professionalism, empathy, and friendliness.
- Properly setting up any surgical or dressing trays required by doctors for patient appointments.
- Effectively collecting personal information and data including patient weights, heights, blood pressure and demographic information.
- Organization of medication sample cabinet and performs regular checks to ensure samples are not expired.
- Effective collection of patient swabs and specimens, following requisitions required, recording procedures and specific medical information in EMR
- Being aware of the laboratory transportation process.
- As required, daily sterilization/reprocessing of medical equipment including proper documentation of sterilization processes




- Administer medication including injections (local anesthetic, intralesional medication and biologics)
- Able to compute cumulative doses and dilution ratios for medications
- Proficient in suture removal and wound dressings
- Competent in operating electronic medical record (MedAccess EMR an asset)
- Provide results of investigations to patients in a clear and concise manner
- Arrange for follow up appointments for patients as directed by the doctor or by lab results
- Provide instructions, distribution of forms and/or paperwork required, and/or any special instructions needed for future appointments

Administrative:

- Maintaining efficient general patient flow within the clinic while exhibiting professionalism, empathy, and friendliness.
- Consistently recording pertinent / relevant personal and medical information within the EMR as well as specific dialogue information with patients (via phone or in person).
- Provide clear instruction to patients regarding future appointment dates, follow up medical tests which may include biopsy reports, TB skin tests and bloodwork
- Provide instructions, distribution of forms and/or paperwork required, and/or any special instructions needed for future appointments.
- Arranging special patient bookings regarding tests, specialist appointments, x-rays, etc.




- Must be aware of patient forms required and special preparations needed for procedures and tests performed at the clinic and be able to communicate such information to patients.
- Manage the referral process of booking specialist appointments both in Red Deer and externally.

Others:

- Regular cleaning and sterilization of exam rooms and medical equipment. This may also include temporary and emergency cleaning in the patient bathrooms or exam rooms if they are compromised.
- Organization of medication sample cabinet and performs regular checks to ensure samples are not expired.
- Being aware of the laboratory collection and transportation process.
- As required, daily sterilization/reprocessing of medical equipment including proper documentation of sterilization processes.

Educational and personal requirements:

- Completion and Certification from accredited LPN program
- Experience in Dermatology an asset
- Willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate patient and clinic needs
- Exceptional organizational skills
- High level of multi-tasking capacity
- Focused on providing highest quality of patient care
- Cooperative and respectful
- Team-oriented and flexible

Job Types:

- Full-time vs Part-time (Part-time hours: 16-40 per week )
- Salary: $27 to $29 per hour
- Schedule: Monday to Friday + Weekends as needed
- Work Location: In person
