Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver/Material Handler to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving processes within our warehouse environment. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, order fulfillment, and inventory management will be crucial to ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
We are looking for someone who takes initiative and stays productive throughout the day. When primary duties are complete, you should be comfortable identifying other tasks that need to be done and pitching in wherever needed—for example, keeping the shop floor clean and organized, assisting coworkers, emptying garbage, or taking care of other general shop duties. A strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed are essential.
This is a permanent, full-time position consisting of day shifts (6:00am-4:30pm).
Duties
- Operate forklifts and reach trucks to load and unload products safely and efficiently.
- Utilize JobBoss² software for tracking inventory levels and managing orders.
- Process incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and sorting received goods to the correct storage areas.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging products securely and labeling them accurately for delivery, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Generate shipping documents, such as bills of lading and packing slips, using JobBoss² ERP software.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline shipping and receiving processes while adhering to company policies.
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate inventory counts and order processing.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations, procedures, and standards.
- Perform routine pre-use inspections and general maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Work overtime shifts to support operations as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- 3-5 years warehouse experience with a strong understanding of shipping & receiving protocols.
- Experience using JobBoss² or similar inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of packaging techniques and materials to ensure safe transport of goods.
- Solid attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certifications: Must have a valid forklift certificate.
- Commutation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with co-workers, vendors and customers.
- Physical Ability: The ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
