About Our Client A leading Canadian Insurance company.
Job Description Drive the implementation, growth and adoption of test automation across enterprise
Drive an Automation First mandate in all phases of testing
Define and improve quality engineering and automation policies and procedures
Design, measure, report, and continuously improve automation and system performance metrics
Experience managing capital and operational budgets, with proven cost management achievements
Collaborate with functional and development teams to develop performance engineering discipline and lead performance testing effort across lines of business
Support the team to manage the various environments required for testing and production launches for program and projects across Insurance companies
Support the release planning leads to diligently manage intake and collaborate with stakeholders to plan deployments
Design systems to support continuous delivery and adapt test environment management to support on-demand, self-service automation
Develop technology roadmap for automation, performance testing and release management tools
Partner with system and business leaders to understand their quality needs and incorporate that into roadmap
Coach and mentor team members to enable them to excel in their roles and support engagement activities
Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering, computer science, or related practice
Certification in top automation tools and courses an asset
Project Management certification an asset




Minimum of 8 years progressive work experience in information technology
Minimum of 5 years of experience in applications testing, quality assurance, quality engineering, performance testing and environment management
Minimum of 2 years of people leadership, project management and delivery experience within the insurance industry
Experience with both functional and non-functional (load, performance, failure, etc.) test design & execution
Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Scrum development methodology and in leading Agile Scrum QA teams
Understanding of enterprise DevOps
Strong understanding of non-functional behaviors that include performance, scalability / resource utilization, resiliency & security, high availability
Experience leading test automation programs desired
Knowledge and experience with testing & automation tools
Knowledge and experience in DevOps, SQL, O/S troubleshooting and tooling (Jira, Confluence, LoadRunner, Selenium, Ranorex, Jenkins) desired

The Successful Applicant The successful candidate will bring at least eight years of progressive IT experience, including extensive expertise in quality assurance, quality engineering, test automation, performance testing, and setting management. They will possess strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile Scrum delivery, enterprise DevOps practices, and both functional and non-functional testing methodologies. Experience leading automation programs, managing budgets, vendor relationships, and technology roadmaps will be highly valuable. The ideal candidate will have proven people leadership experience within the insurance industry and a track record of coaching teams to achieve strong delivery outcomes. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills are essential, along with a continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical abilities, and a passion for driving enterprise-scale quality and automation transformation.
