The Kitimat Community Development Centre is seeking a dedicated Child and Youth Care Worker to engage with youth and families effectively. This role focuses on trauma-informed care and aims to foster positive outcomes for children up to 19 years old.
In this permanent part time position, you will provide direct support through consultations and interventions tailored to individual needs. You will collaborate with families and fellow team members, ensuring that every child achieves their goals while enjoying a work/life balance in a supportive environment amidst Northern BC's natural beauty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet clients and implement scheduled service plans
• Communicate and collaborate with children and families
• Document progress in reports and notes
• Consult monthly with the Program Manager
• Attend necessary team meetings as requested
Requirements:
• Relevant Human Service Worker certification
• Valid driver's license and vehicle access
• Basic First Aid certification
• Successfully pass a Criminal Record Check
• Experience with neurodiverse children and local cultural sensitivity
