Role Description The Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Headingley, MB, responsible for planning, executing, and closing civil and infrastructure projects that serve First Nations clients and partners. This role oversees project scope, schedule, budget, and quality, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and community representatives to ensure alignment with client goals and cultural values.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing project plans and timelines, managing procurement and expediting activities, organizing site inspections, and monitoring construction progress.
The Project
Manager will prepare and review technical documentation, progress reports, and meeting minutes, while proactively identifying risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and resolving issues. The role also involves supporting local employment and capacity-building by working with community members, trades, and operators throughout all project phases.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Proficiency in Expeditor and Expediting functions, ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and documentation.
- Experience with Inspection activities, including site visits, quality control, and compliance with specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
- Skills in Logistics Management, including coordination of transportation, warehousing, and on-site material handling.
- Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related field; professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., PMP, CET) is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and community members.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of, and respect for, First Nations cultures, traditions, and community priorities; experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
