Now Hiring: Dishwasher & Kitchen Prep (2 Separate Positions) – Italian Restaurant | Thornhill, ON

Our employer partner, a busy Italian restaurant in Thornhill, is currently hiring for two separate full-time positions:

1. Dishwasher

2. Kitchen Prep

Location: Thornhill, ON

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 20+ hours per week

Wage: $17.60–$20.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Training Provided: Yes, on-the-job training provided

Dishwasher

Responsibilities:

- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas
- Remove garbage and recycling and dispose of waste according to workplace procedures
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and perform general cleaning duties
- Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards
- Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and support tasks as needed

Requirements:

- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Thornhill
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Kitchen Prep

Responsibilities:

- Prepare appetizers and assist with basic food preparation tasks
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables and other ingredients




- Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, equipment, and utensils
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards
- Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation and kitchen duties as required
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies are running low
- Support overall kitchen operations by performing additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Previous kitchen prep or food service experience is an asset
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Thornhill
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
