The Event Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations for events, ensuring the flawless execution of culinary offerings that reflect Elora Mill's high standards. They ensure the preparation, quality, and timely delivery of exceptional dishes, while maintaining a well-organized and clean kitchen environment. The Event Chef plays a pivotal role in creating memorable dining experiences and ensuring the overall success of each event.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct day-to-day event kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient staffing, and operational follow-up.
- Ensure all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to event department recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards, maintaining quality and consistency throughout preparation and service.
- Coordinate with Event Management and Front of House team to assure that food production and quality consistently exceeds the expectations of our guests.
- Oversee multiple events to ensuring exceptional guest experiences, accommodating special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies, while managing guest service recovery and follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
- Participate in product ordering, inventory management, and asset care, maintaining awareness of product freshness and inventory levels.
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations related to health, safety, and labor requirements, ensuring departmental cleanliness and meeting health department standards.
- Monitor and evaluate team member performance, providing regular feedback and performance management conversations, documentation or terminations when needed.
- Create weekly schedules that balance labor budgets with team member requests, ensuring efficient staffing levels.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and one-on-one meetings with team members and culinary leaders to provide feedback, support their growth, and communicate key updates.
- Control labor and operating expenses through planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control.
- Oversee payroll, budgeting, and P&L; approval to maximize profitability.
- Implement creative cost control and revenue generation solutions.
- Identify and address areas of concern, ensuring financial acumen and guest focus.
- Ensure accurate reporting and schedule oversight to maintain operational efficiency.
- Manage BOH COGS, labor, and food cost control.
- Conduct inventory audits and submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
