We are presently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel’s physical assets, including guest rooms, public spaces, mechanical systems, and other facilities. The role ensures that the hotel meets safety standards, operates efficiently, and provides an excellent experience for guests.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supervising and performing routine maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), and other mechanical systems;
- Overseeing maintenance of hotel grounds, public spaces, and guest rooms;
- Ensuring preventive maintenance programs are followed and regularly updated;
- Addressing urgent maintenance issues as they arise, especially those that impact guest comfort or safety;
- Leading, training, and supervising maintenance staff;
- Assigning tasks, creating schedules, and monitoring the performance of maintenance team members;
- Conducting regular meetings with the team to review work assignments, safety protocols, and other operational issues;
- Assisting in creating and managing the maintenance department’s budget;
- Tracking and ordering supplies, materials, and tools needed for repairs and maintenance;
- Maintaining accurate inventory records for equipment, parts, and supplies;
- Ensuring that all maintenance operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations;
- Maintaining records of maintenance inspections, repairs, and safety checks;
- Responding promptly to safety hazards and emergencies (e.g., fires, power outages, water leaks);
- Conducting regular safety audits and ensuring staff are trained in safety procedures;
- Monitoring guest feedback regarding maintenance issues and working to resolve complaints or concerns in a timely manner;
- Ensure that rooms and facilities are always clean, functional, and well‑maintained to enhance the guest experience;
- Collaborating with other hotel departments (Housekeeping, Front Desk, etc.) to prioritize maintenance requests and minimize guest disruption;
- Reporting major repairs or issues to the General Manager, including detailed action plans and cost estimates;
- Keeping detailed records of maintenance work performed and communicating regularly with senior management regarding progress;
- Participating in planning and executing renovation or improvement projects as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations;
- Recommending upgrades or replacements of equipment and facilities to improve hotel efficiency, sustainability, and guest satisfaction;
- Such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical,
HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, reporting, and inventory management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) may be required.
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality maintenance management.
- Knowledge of green building practices and sustainability initiatives.
- Experience in managing a team or department within the hospitality industry.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- May require on‑call availability for emergency maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, such as lifting, bending, and operating equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, depending on the season or location
