Job Title: Server

Job Opportunity

The Berczy Tavern is seeking experienced and passionate servers to join our team. As a server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests. Your role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere, attending to the guests' needs and preferences, and representing our restaurant with professionalism and charm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greeting guests warmly and promptly, escorting them to their tables, and presenting menus
- Providing detailed information about our menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, and offering suggestions and recommendations
- Taking accurate orders and communicating them to the kitchen staff in a timely manner
- Carrying plates and serving food and drinks to the table, ensuring that all items are presented beautifully and in accordance with the guests' preferences
- Monitoring guests' satisfaction levels and responding promptly to any requests or concerns




- Managing table turnovers efficiently and accurately handling payments and cash transactions
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and assisting with restaurant setup and closing duties as needed

Requirements:

- At least 3 years of experience as a server in an upscale restaurant setting
- Solid knowledge of food and wine, including the ability to describe flavors, pairings, and preparation methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- A high energy level and ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and attention to detail
- A team player mindset, with a willingness to assist other staff members as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, brunch shifts and holidays as required
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy trays and stand for extended periods of time
