Hospital Setting
Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (224 acute beds) has a dedicated pediatric ward and current outpatient facility supported by a core team of pediatric nurses, dietician, diabetic nurse educator, and a full‑time child life worker.
The hospital has a new state‑of‑the‑art 9‑bed, level 2b NICU, providing provincial beds to infants >32 weeks' gestation, including short‑term ventilation and TPN.
The Nanaimo medical community offers the chance for teaching and is a UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program site.
