Location: Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) (Petawawa Ontario is in Eastern Ontario, 170 kilometers northwest of Ottawa)
Position Type: Receptionist - Maternity Leave coverage
- 18 month term contract
- 6% vacation pay
Work Schedule: Call in Basis Salary: $18.28-$19.19
Immediate Supervisor: Community Liaison Specialist
Language Requirement: English Mandatory; French a Strong Asset

The Role(s)
Under the direction of the PMFRC Community Liaison Specialist, the Receptionist is responsible for welcoming community members to the various Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) facilities. The Receptionist provides all frontline services, including responding to client requests and directing them to the appropriate resource and/or program area. This position may work out of any PMFRC facility located on both the North Side and South Side of the Garrison.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Office Administration or Customer Service Training / Course
Experience
- In data entry, record-keeping, and retrieval techniques
- Processing payments
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- In evidence-based approach for psychosocial services
- In working with a cross-section of the community
- In providing front-line support, responding to inquiries and community concerns In non-violent crisis intervention
- In researching, establishing, sustaining, and fostering a network of community contacts and partnerships
- In providing emotional support
Conditions of Employment
- Adhere to all PMFRC policies and procedures including policies regarding privacy code and confidentiality.
- Participate/ assist with all special events when required.
- Provide proof of any applicable registration with the respective regulatory body if applicable.
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check, obtain an enhanced reliability security clearance, and vulnerable sector screening (current within 6 months).
- Valid Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for work related travel and requisite driver’s insurance.
- Travel within the County of Renfrew.
- Thorough understanding of Canadian Armed Forces communities, systems,
and policies to effectively assist families in accessing appropriate services and supports.
