What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to, and under the direction of the Supervisor, Asset Management, the Asset Management Analyst is responsible for updating the Corporation’s Municipal Asset Management Plan,
and maintaining the City Wide Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) database, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) datasets.
Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- implementation of EAM and GIS applications, including development and maintenance of standards and documentation;
- assisting in maintaining asset and lifecycle activity databases to ensure completeness, accuracy and availability of up to date information from all sources to all users;
- providing technical support and training for sidewalk and sign inspection equipment and software applications to staff;
- performing research and analysis regarding asset management best practices;
- developing and updating the Town of Whitby’s Municipal Asset Management Plan;
- assisting or evaluating commercially available and proprietary Esri GIS software and make recommendations on effectiveness to maintain digital data;
- investigating and promoting the business development aspect of utilizing the Town’s EAM, GIS and GPS resources;
- maintaining up to date knowledge of both current and potential job-related equipment, applications and development; and,
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
Our Asset Management Services division is looking for a self-motivated, highly technical, Asset Management Technician who understands what it takes to model asset performance to optimize preventative maintenance strategies, delivering data to various divisions. Using your extensive technical knowledge and experience allows you to navigate through complex challenges and recommend innovative solutions. You are able to provide strong problem-solving skills and using sound judgement, you have the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and diplomacy when working with staff, contractors and general public.
What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- a two (2) to three (3) year, post-secondary diploma in an Engineering Technician or Technology program, Applied Geography, or a related field from a recognized Community College;
- a minimum of two (2) years of related asset management experience preferably in the municipal field;
- a thorough, technical knowledge and understanding of asset management criteria;
- demonstrated intermediate level knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Accreditation as a Certified Asset Management Qualified (CAMP), Certified Technical Specialist in Asset Management (CTAM), Certified Practitioner in Asset Management (CPAM), or Certified Senior Principal in Asset Management (CSAM)
would be considered an asset;
- strong technical, analytical, research, and problem solving skills;
- the ability to constantly prioritize and organize work in order to meet deadlines;
- the ability to work independently in a team environment;
- excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and the public;
- the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and diplomacy; and
- strong interpersonal and public relations skills to effectively foster business opportunities, manage projects and coordinate activities.
What We Offer You
Salary Range/Hourly rate:
$36.20 - $45.23
