Theatre Woodstock is seeking interested candidates for the position of General Manager.

The General Manager (GM) is the primary representative of Theatre Woodstock to our community. They are responsible for maintaining a professional image of Theatre Woodstock.

The primary responsibility of the GM of Theatre Woodstock is to manage the smooth operation of the theatre, ensuring it functions effectively and within budget. The GM serves as the primary administrator of Theatre Woodstock and manages resources, personnel, and systems within the Market Centre on behalf of Theatre Woodstock. The GM liaises with the City of Woodstock regarding Theatre Woodstock’s occupation and use of the Market Centre.

In collaboration with the Theatre Woodstock Board of Directors, the GM will develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures relevant to the operation and governance of Theatre Woodstock.

A crucial role of the GM is being responsible for Human Resources such as training and customer care. The GM supervises the staff team for Theatre Woodstock, including the Box Office Staff, House Management Staff, and Production Staff.





The GM functions as the primary administrative support for the STAGES youth theatre program and is responsible for managing the program in collaboration with the Production Coordinator and the STAGES committee.

The GM oversees the marketing of Theatre Woodstock’s productions and programs (e.g.: STAGES), including the management of print, telecommunications, and social media marketing. The GM also oversees the recruitment of sponsors, strategic partnerships, and additional funding sources (e.g.: grant applications) for Theatre Woodstock and STAGES.

Regular hours are Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm, with some flexibility in scheduling required to support productions, performances, and events, including evenings and weekends.

The General Manager reports to the Board of Theatre Woodstock through the Chair (President).

Job Types: Part time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week
