Position summary: Campbellford Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated and reliable Registered Practical Nurse to support the Inpatient Unit. The successful candidate will provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Practice Standards, hospital policies and CUPE collective agreement guidelines.

Duties: The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients/residents in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario and organizational policies. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring health status, supporting daily living activities, and maintaining accurate documentation. The RPN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans, responds to emergencies, and promotes a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Participation in ongoing professional development and adherence to collective agreement provisions under CUPE Local 2247 are also essential.

Qualifications:

· Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RPN.

· Diploma in Practical Nursing – Must be from a program approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario

· Successful completion of Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE)

· Successful completion of the Transition to Practice (TTP) Course

· Immunization and Health Clearance

· Current certification in BCLS

Required Skills:

· Ability to provide safe, effective and ethical nursing care in accordance with the CNO standards

· Previous experience in [e.g. inpatient, medical/surgical, acute care etc. is an asset

· Proficient in administrating medications and treatments accurately and safely

· Skilled in observing, assessing and documenting patient conditions and reporting changes promptly





· Knowledge of and adherence to infection control practices

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a dynamic healthcare setting

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Demonstrated initiative for continuing education and willingness to participate in programs related to all aspects of nursing practice to maintain competency.

Preferred:

· Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications

Hours of Work: All shifts required, including weekends and holidays.

Wage Rate: $36.35 to $39.02

Union Details: This position follows the CUPE Local 2247 collective agreement, Article 9.05, which governs job classifications and seniority rights.
