CMH is looking for an Occupational Therapist in a Permanent Part time role. This position plays a significant role in promoting health, preventing illness, and helping patients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible.

Primary Duties

· Assess, plans and provides therapeutic interventions for an assigned caseload according to Occupational Therapy scope of practice, keeping in mind the patient's physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to develop individualized treatment plans

· Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance mobility, self-care and daily living activities

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses and physiotherapists.

· Completes documentation of Occupational Therapy activities

· Practices in accordance with the College of Occupational Therapist Standards and hospital policies and procedures

· Provides education, consultation and liaison to clients, caregivers, family members and other service providers

· Participates in regular team meetings, inter-qualified clinics and rounds, and care conferences as needed

· Participates in ongoing professional development and hospital initiatives

· Adhere to workplace safety regulations and infection control practices

Education Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution

· Current Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required

· Ministry of Health Assistive Devices Program Authorizer

· Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred





· Current BCLS and First Aid

Required Qualifications:

· Strong clinical assessment skills with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Demonstrated knowledge of OT best-practice and skills in working with individuals with various types of patients

· High level of organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, with attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing patient needs

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, staff, physicians, medical teams and families

· Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills

· Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred

· Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment. Demonstrating compassion and a patient-focused approach to therapy and rehabilitation

Pay: $48.26-$60.08 per hour
