Torngat Metals is looking for an Office and Community Engagement Coordinator based in Sept-Îles. Reporting to the Director, Community Engagement and Partnerships, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day set-up and operation of Torngat Metalsnew Sept-Îles office and will serve as the on-the-ground coordinator for community engagement activities and events. This is a hands-on, logistics-focused role responsible for office administration, coordination, and practical support as we establish and strengthen relationships with the community.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the set-up and day-to-day operations of the Sept-Îles office, including basic administration, supplies, reception needs, and local service coordination.
- Provide general HR administrative support for the Sept-Îles office (e.g., onboarding logistics, timesheet support, coordination of local training/medical appointments as applicable, and maintaining employee records as directed), with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the HR team in Montreal.
- Coordinate logistics for community engagement activities and events (venue booking, catering, materials, set-up/tear-down, invitations lists as provided, and on-site support).
- Act as the local point of contact for practical coordination with community partners and suppliers,
escalating issues and opportunities to the Community Engagement and Partnerships team.
- Maintain organized records and tracking (contacts lists, meeting/event logistics checklists, purchase requests/receipts as applicable) and ensure information is shared with the team in a timely manner.
- Provide general coordination support to visiting team members (travel and local logistics, room set-up, equipment, printing/shipping) and help ensure a professional and welcoming office environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience in office administration, coordination, logistics, or a similar support role (community, municipal, events, or operations environments are assets).
- College diploma or equivalent experience in administration, business, or a related field.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate details, and meet deadlines.
- Skilled, service-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills for interacting with community members, partners, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of the Sept-Îles region and comfort coordinating with local service providers (e.g., venues, caterers, printers, couriers) is an asset.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for day-to-day coordination, record-keeping, and internal follow-up.
- Experience supporting an industrial, mining, or project development environment is an asset.
- Fluency in French; bilingualism is an asset.
- Ability to use Microsoft 365 (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
