Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Monday – Friday 6:00 – 5:00 (Occasional Evenings will be required)

Salary: $ 27.40/hour

Immediate Supervisor: Childcare Supervisor

Language Requirement: English Mandatory; French a Strong Asset

The Role(s)

Under the direction of the Childcare Supervisor, the Head Educator will be responsible the delivery, administration, and facilitation of the day-to-day operations of the PMFRC Childcare Services. Duties may also include assisting with programs intended for facilitating children’s development (including social, emotional, physical, and intellectual). The Head Educator must be creative, flexible, enthusiastic. They are also responsible for ensuring that the program activity services align with the PMFRC strategic plan.

Qualifications

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators is essential.
- A demonstrated equivalent combination of education,



training and/or experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Supervisory experience within a licensed childcare setting

Experience Requirements

- In applying “How Does Learning Happen” Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
- In compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act of Ontario.
- In the delivery of a quality program that provides positive educational environment, according to ECERS standards to enhance the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of each individual child within a specific age range.
- In completing monthly programming on the web-based ELECT trancing and the developmental needs of children.
- In providing recommendations to program procedures, mandates, goals, and objectives to the Childcare Supervisor.
- In evaluating programs through observation, identify needs and provide recommendations accordingly.

Conditions of Employment

- Requirement to be fully vaccinated.
- Adhere to all PMFRC policies and procedures including policies regarding privacy code and confidentiality.
- Participate/ assist with all special events when required.
- Provide proof of any applicable registration with the respective regulatory body if applicable.
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check, obtain an enhanced reliability security clearance, and vulnerable sector screening (current within 6 months).
- Valid Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for work related travel and requisite driver’s insurance.
- Travel within the County of Renfrew.




- Thorough understanding of Canadian Armed Forces communities, systems, and policies to effectively assist families in accessing appropriate services and supports.
