Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. This role involves assisting with various outdoor projects, including landscaping, construction, and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in diverse environments. Prior experience with horticulture, gardening, or mechanical tools is a plus but not required. This position offers an excellent chance to develop skills in landscape maintenance and construction while contributing to high-quality project outcomes.

Duties

- General property cleanup and upkeep (grounds, common areas, pathways)
- Assist with basic maintenance and repair tasks
- Landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, and debris removal
- Assisting with property improvements and seasonal setup/teardown
- Supporting team members with various labour tasks as needed
- Ensuring a safe and tidy environment for guests and staff

Qualifications:

- Previous labour or maintenance experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift heavy objects
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment is an asset

Additional Information:

- Some weekend availability is required
- Opportunity for full-time employment may be available after the contract period based on performance and business needs

- Perform gardening tasks such as planting, trimming, mulching, and soil preparation
- Conduct landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, and debris removal
- Use hand tools and power tools for various construction and maintenance activities

- Assist with the installation of new features such as walkways, retaining walls, or fencing
- Conduct routine mechanical checks on equipment and perform basic repairs or report issues for further maintenance

Skills

- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is preferred
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, gardening techniques, and horticulture principles is advantageous
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices and construction processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment upkeep and troubleshooting
- Ability to use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools (drills, saws) effectively
- Solid physical stamina for lifting, digging, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently in outdoor work environments
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $18.50-$23.83 per hour
