About the role:
We have a current vacancy for a skilled, dependable and versatile licensed millwright. This position will require daily travel to customer sites. Working at Ayr Welding means joining a family-owned company, where the owners know and care about you. As a millwright, you will be responsible for providing quality work while working independently, efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities: As a Millwright at Ayr Welding, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Aligning, assembling, and installing machines and equipment to ensure they operate efficiently.
- Replacing defective parts and adjusting clearances to maintain optimal performance.
- Dismantling and moving machinery as needed for various projects.
- Conducting preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings to determine work procedures
- Troubleshooting equipment, electrical components, hydraulics, or other mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Following and leading safe work practices to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Meeting project deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective operations.
- Valid ‘G’ license required
How do I qualify?
Knowledge and Skills
- A minimum of 3 years as a licensed millwright
- A Journeyman Certificate (433A Millwright) or equivalent
- Experience working in a variety of industries
- A current Working at Heights certificate is considered an asset
- Ability to independently read shop drawings
Communication and interpersonal skills:
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Effective time management
- Safety conscious
- Sound judgement
What is the working environment like?
- Varied: you will be required to travel to different customer/construction sites
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Ability to work extra hours to accommodate project deadlines
This is a Permanent Fulltime position. A work week consists of 44 hours. Overtime is required occasionally. Pay is based on experience and ability $38-44/hour.
