Job Description

The Town of Stony Plain has a seasonal position available for an Event Assistant within the Programs and Services team. Reporting to the Event Coordinator, this position provides support to Town led special events and will assist with the coordination of the various aspects required to plan and provide events, including but not limited to, volunteer recruitment, scheduling and orientation, vendor recruitment, programming, promotion, evaluation, logistics, set up and tear down.

We are seeking a candidate who can:

- Support vendor recruitment and coordination
- Contribute to event programming, promotion and post-event evaluation
- Manage event logistics, including setup and tear-down
- Anticipate project needs and proactively address potential challenges
- Adapt to changing project timelines and evolving event requirements




- Prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple responsibilities

Qualifications

Conditions of Employment:

- Currently enrolled in or have completed a post-secondary program in Event Management or a related field, with demonstrated knowledge of special event planning and volunteer management.
- Must hold a valid Class 5 Drivers' License.

Additional Information

The wage for this position is $20.40 - $23.97 per hour. The regular work week is based on 35 hours and will include evening and weekend work as operationally required. This is a seasonal position with an anticipated end date of August 28, 2026.
