Estimated Yearly Remuneration:$400,000+ (Fee for Service).

MOCAP Level 1 for On-Call.

MSP Premium 23.10% + $35,798.40 Annual Bonus (Flat Fee).

$20,000 Signing Bonus + Moving Allowance $9,000 - $15,000.

RCME funding available.

Your opportunity to help build a robust Orthopaedic service in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, a vibrant city of 13,000 serving a catchment area of 70,000. We are seeking a General Orthopaedic Surgeon with skills in Primary THA and Primary TKA. You would also run a fracture clinic once a week. There are presently two Orthopedic Surgeons in Fort St John (75 km away).

Dawson Creek has a new hospital build underway and we anticipate it opening in 2027. The new hospital will have an MRI.

Currently, Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Services include:

- Medical imaging with CT





- Orthopedic Surgery

- 24/7 emergency

- HAU

- General surgery

- Day surgery

- Medical and surgical in-patient care

- Lab

- Respiratory therapy

- Diabetic education

- Primary care

- Cancer care

The city has a population of approximately 13,000, provides primary service to a population of 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region, approximately 70,000.

Dawson Creek has eleven elementary schools, one middle school, one secondary school, and one private school (kindergarten to grade 12). Northern Lights College provides post-secondary education.

Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) funding is subject to change without notice.
