Position:
ESS is seeking Core Cutters to join us on a mining exploration program located near Greenwood, BC for the 2026 summer season.
Job Description:
The primary duties of this position will be:
- Cutting drill core using a rock saw
- Bagging and tagging the cut samples
- Preparing sample bags for shipment to labratory
- Organizational management of the cut samples
- General housekeeping and organization of work spaces
- Other duties may include, but are not limited to: troubleshooting sample issues, preparing sample bags for Core Cutters, general lifting and moving, etc.
Transportation to the site is provided by employer either by plane, expeditor, train, or km reimbursed for driving.
Qualifications:
- Experience using a rock saw and cutting core is recommended but not required
- Experience sampling cut core: bagging, tagging, and organizing cut samples is recommended but not required
- Team player: must work well with in diverse groups of people for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work rotational work of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off
- Able to work independently when required
- Have a positive and pro-active attitude towards environmental responsibility, health and safety, and respectful workplace practices.
- Be detail oriented and strive for accuracy and consistency
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50-80 lbs and being active for a 12 hour shift
- Comfortable and able to work and live in remote camp settings
- Required to complete a drug and alcohol test in advance of employment and be able to adhere to the policies of a dry-camp environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be located within Greenwood, BC area
- Individuals further out from this area will be considered
- Have a valid unrestricted Canadian drivers license is recommended but not required
- Individuals in both rural and urban centers are encouraged to apply
Compensation:
The rate of pay for this position is between $315 and $350 per day and is dependent on level of experience.
