Payroll & Payables Coordinator
Reports To: Controller
Location: Work primarily from our Hartland, NB location, with flexibility for remote work and travel to support business operations.

People count on payroll being right—and at Craig Manufacturing, that matters. As a Canadian‑owned, multi‑site manufacturer, we’re looking for a Payroll & Payables Coordinator to join our Finance team in Hartland, NB.
Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a key part in supporting employees and operations by ensuring payroll and payables are handled accurately, reliably, and in compliance with Canadian and U.S. requirements. Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process weekly Canadian and U.S. payrolls for hourly and salaried employees across multiple sites
- Calculate wages including overtime, premiums, commissions, allowances, deductions, and adjustments
- Maintain payroll data for hires, terminations, job changes, leaves, and probation periods
- Manage timecard validation and payroll inputs
- Prepare and file ROEs, T4s, T4As, T4 Summaries, and W-2s (where applicable)
- Submit statutory remittances (CPP, EI, income tax) and ensure legislative compliance
- Administer RRSP and group benefit enrollments, changes, and arrears
- Support Workers’ Compensation reporting and claims tracking
- Maintain vacation accrual records
- Provide administrative support for government programs and audits
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices in CAD and foreign currencies with or without purchase orders
- Manage recurring invoices, allocations, amortization,
work orders, and Concur expenses
- Prepare and execute EFT, ACH, E-Transfers, cheque, wire, and special payment runs
- Set up and maintain supplier accounts and respond to vendor inquiries
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Manage credits, adjustments, voids, stops, and returned payments
- Ensure correct GST/HST treatment
Cash & Banking Support
- Process petty cash transactions, replenishments, and reconciliations
- Post bank fees, withdrawals, deposits, and approved transfers
- Complete full bank reconciliations including adjustments
Reporting, Controls & Close Support
- Prepare payroll, AP, and reconciliation reports
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to payroll and AP
- Assist with audits and tax filings (HST, sales & use, property)
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
- Recommend process improvements for efficiency and control
QualificationsRequirements
Required
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, Payroll, or related field
- 2–4 years of Canadian payroll and accounts payable experience
- Strong knowledge of CRA and payroll legislation
- Experience with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
Preferred
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working toward certification
- Experience supporting multiple provinces
- Familiarity with payroll and accounting systems such as ADP, or similar platforms

Work Conditions
