Co-op Student - Compliance, Data Analysis, Policy - Fall September 2026

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

Annual salary: 1,792.24 - $2,257.45 biweekly

The location for this position is for our Dunsmuir Downtown Vancouver office in BC.

- We are looking for team-oriented, 3rd or 4th year Co-op students who demonstrates strong communications,

interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.




- Working with IT’s Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance team may include: Helping organize, reformat, or align

Cybersecurity documents for audit. Review if documentation contain obligated data per their applicable policies. Running reports for data aggregation and/or correlation. Automating manual tasks to improve efficiency. Tasks will be assigned based on the needs of the department. strengths of the student and other learning objectives.
- The student will learn about within the utility industry and be given the prospect to develop his/her communication skills,

software skills and professional judgement. What you bring

- To qualify as a candidate, individual's must be enrolled and yet to graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in

Canada.
- 3rd of 4th year students working on their Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Political

Sciences, or equivalent are preferred.
- Strong data organization skills combined with critical thinking to propose methods of maintaining data
- Strong analytical skills, combined with good judgement and ability to learn quickly.
- Strong working knowledge SharePoint, MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Visio).
- Some process flow, network, architecture diagram experience with Visio would be considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills are an asset and the ability to work efficiently,

independently and in a team environment.




- Strong attention to detail
- Some understanding of networking outputs, windows/unix commands and/or operating system administration would be

considered an asset

What we offer

- As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required.
- All positions will be hired first as a four month work term. For some positions, there is opportunity to extend, to eight

months.
- Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate

themselves if necessary. What else you should know

Flexible work model role definitions:

Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for each position and the operational requirements.

Employees also have the right to work full-time from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.

Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.

Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
