Tree Nursery Manager – Kleinburg

Company Overview

We are a well-established tree nursery located in Kleinburg, Vaughan, looking for an experienced and hands-on Tree Nursery Manager to lead our operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for the daily management and success of our nursery.

Work Location

Kleinburg, Vaughan, Ontario (rural setting)

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all aspects of tree nursery operations including propagation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and pest/disease management
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of nursery workers and seasonal staff
- Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines
- Monitor plant health and implement integrated pest management strategies
- Maintain accurate inventory records, sales orders, and production reports
- Ensure full compliance with Ontario environmental regulations and workplace safety standards (OHSA)
- Manage equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, and resource allocation
- Provide excellent customer service and handle client inquiries and orders
- Work closely with ownership on business growth and operational improvements

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of experience in tree nursery management, horticulture, or a related field




- Proven experience operating various nursery and landscaping machinery (tractors, skid steers, loaders, irrigation systems, etc.) — required
- Strong knowledge of tree species, propagation techniques, soil science, and plant health management
- Previous experience supervising and leading a team
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with reliable transportation (early morning starts required)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks when needed
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Ontario nursery regulations and best practices is an asset
