Registered Clinical Counsellor or Social Worker for Small Growing Practice Overlooking Saint Margaret's Bay

Natural Psychology is a small practice which specializes in integrated body and somatic psychotherapy for the treatment of trauma and other complex mental health issues. We are looking for the right person who would compliment the team by bringing their own specialty and knowledge base to the practice.

Our emphasis is on healing and growth from a holistic approach which includes the body, mind, heart and spirit. Our difference is in how we view the role of the body in addressing trauma.

Experience working with Adults and Couples (such as Gottman training, EFT, DBT etc.).

Somatic therapy modalities (such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, IBP etc.).

Some knowledge of the Poly Vagal theory and working with the nervous system.





Trauma informed therapy, addiction and / or an understanding of working with physical ailments such as chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and other autoimmune deficiencies.

Qualifications

A recognized Masters Degree in counselling or social work

Are a current NS / Canadian Registered Counsellor in positive standing (all designations will be considered, e.g. RTC, MTC, RCC, CCC, RSW, RPC-C, RPC, MPCC, MPCC-S, etc.).

Hold current Professional Liability Insurance.

Two years of experience providing assessments or counselling to adults and couples

Are able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week for clients to consistently book in with you. This could include a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours (specific days and times are negotiable).

A willingness to engage in continual learning and dialogue towards creating a safe, inclusive and diverse culture within our practice (both with clients and with each other).
