September 2027, this role will be required to be on site 50% of the time each month.Position OverviewThe Specialist, Talent Acquisition & Recognition plays a key role within the Human Resources team, leading the full-cycle recruitment process for both unionized and non-unionized positions. This role is responsible for delivering a seamless and positive candidate experience, from initial contact through onboarding, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to meet organizational hiring needs.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of the Specialist, Talent Acquisition & Recognition will include:





Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to provide service excellence Being first point of contact for candidates and creating a positive interviewing and onboarding experience* Identifying the selection criteria and competencies, conducting interviews (in-person & virtually) and reference checks, extending offers of employment and negotiating total compensation* Managing the online applicant tracking system, including troubleshooting and updating process documentation* Managing the corporate internship program including developing relationships with Universities and Colleges* Developing and implementing the City’s recruitment and attraction strategy* Assisting with coordinating employee recognition programsRequirementsYou will have three (3) years of hands-on, high volume recruitment experience coupled with a University Degree in Human Resources Management (or another Degree with a post Graduate Human Resources certificate). A CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset. Additionally, you must have robust behavioural interviewing skills, knowledge of applicable employment legislation, collective agreements, and a proven ability to manage several competing priorities.

A self starter who is committed to excellent customer service and who has demonstrated the ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels is essential.You thrive in a fast paced and collaborative environment.
