Summer Recreation Program Coordinators & Counsellors

(Full Time - Term Position)

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay seeks to employ multiple full time (Term Hire Position) Summer Recreation Program staff, reporting to the Director of Community Services & Recreation. We are currently recruiting for:

· Summer Recreation Coordinator (multiple)

· Summer Recreation Counsellor (multiple)

· Recreation Labourer (multiple)

As the successful applicant, you must possess the following:

· Coordinators – Minimum Age: 18 years

· Coordinators – Minimum Education: One year of post-secondary program

· Counsellors – Minimum Age: 17 years

· Counsellors – Minimum Education: Grade 11 High School

· Attending a Post-Secondary Educational Institution in September 2026 (written confirmation of registration to be provided) or Grade 12

· Provide a clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check prior to start of employment

· Qualifications in First Aid/ CPR / Life Guarding will be considered an asset





· High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development training will be considered an asset

· Previous experience in sports coaching, child-care or community programming activities will be considered an asset The hourly pay rate is $19.00 per hour for Coordinator and Labourer, and $18.00 per hour for Counsellor.
