Job Position: Summer Ministries Director (2 positions)

Location: Bridgewater Baptist Church (and surrounding community)

About the Job:

Bridgewater Baptist Church is seeking two (2) students who are looking to place their faith into action and make an impact in the local community by developing and exercising their leadership, organizational, and creative skills. The Summer Ministries Directors will primarily be working with the church’s ministry to children, youth, and young families, and will report directly to the Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Families. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours (including evenings & weekends), at an average of 35 hours per week.

Dates of Employment: Monday, June 22 OR Tuesday, June 23, 2026, to Sunday, August 16, 2026. (8 weeks, all dates inclusive)

Rate of Pay: $16.75/hr

Responsibilities:

With direction and supervision from the Youth and Young Families Pastor,

- coordinating the planning and implementation of the Church’s summer ministries to children and young families. This includes:

- Planning and scheduling activities for the week of Vacation Bible Camp (VBC), including games, crafts, Bible lessons, and other special activities.
- Connecting and building relationships with children, youth, and their families.
- Coordinating and offering support to volunteer leaders.
- Being involved in the set-up and clean-up efforts for VBC, as well as any extra-curricular and/or off-site activities designed for youth and family outreach.

- Directing the Church's Sunday morning children’s ministries.

- Preparing and teaching Bible lessons for preschool and elementary children.
- Scheduling and providing support to the children’s ministry volunteers.





- Assisting in the set-up and direction of the Church’s Sunday morning worship services. This may include, but not be limited to:

- Audio-Visual support (under direction of the Church’s Worship and A/V Coordinator)
- Preparing coffee and setting up refreshments for congregants prior to start of service.
- Greeting, ushering, and other responsibilities relating to congregational care.
- Other responsibilities to be discussed with the direct supervisor.

- Building connections with young families, church community, and other regional associations.

- Providing support and services to Long Lake Camp (the Church’s regional summer camp affiliate) for a minimum 12.5% of total work hours (1 week).

- Providing support to other areas and ministries throughout the week, at the discretion of the direct supervisor.

Qualifications:

- Passion and love for working with children, youth, and families, as well as fostering community outreach and connections.
- Outgoing faith in Jesus Christ, and openness to His leading.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills recommended.
- Experience in teaching, particularly in children and youth ministry, preferred.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop recent skills through ongoing mentorship with pastoral staff and overseeing boards and committees.
- Adherence to Bridgewater Baptist Church’s Constitution, Statement of Faith, and Child Abuse Prevention Policy.
