Our focus is on providing clean, comfortable, and memorable stays for guests seeking a nature-immersed getaway. We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Site Operator to help oversee the daily operations of the property and ensure each guest experience reflects the care, quality, and hospitality Neptune’s Hideaway is known for.

Job Overview

Neptune’s Hideaway is seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Site Operator to support the day-to-day operations of the property throughout the seasonal operating period.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful property, enjoys working in a hospitality environment, and is comfortable handling a variety of operational tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, guest service abilities, and a willingness to be hands-on with property upkeep, guest support, cleaning coordination, inventory, and general site operations.

This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working outdoors, can operate independently, and understands the importance of creating a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained guest environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily on-site operations of Neptune’s Hideaway.
- Act as a main point of contact for guests during their stay, assisting with questions, concerns, check-in support, and general guest needs.
- Ensure all cabins, cottages, common areas, outdoor areas, and guest-facing spaces are clean, organized, safe,



and guest-ready.
- Coordinate and support housekeeping turnover schedules to ensure accommodations are prepared on time for incoming guests.
- Perform quality checks after cleaning and before guest arrivals to confirm each unit meets property standards.
- Monitor and maintain outdoor areas, including decks, fire pits, pathways, parking areas, waterfront areas, garbage/recycling areas, and storage spaces.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks, minor repairs, troubleshooting, and identifying issues that require outside contractors.
- Report maintenance needs promptly and help coordinate access for contractors or service providers when required.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, linens, toiletries, cleaning products, firewood, and other operational items.
- Restock units and storage areas as needed.
- Assist with staging and presentation of accommodations to ensure a warm, clean, and inviting guest experience.
- Support online guest communication when needed, including relaying urgent matters to management.
- Help enforce property rules and ensure guests are respecting the site, other guests, and the surrounding workplace.
- Conduct routine site walks to identify safety concerns, cleanliness issues, damages, or operational needs.
- Support seasonal opening and closing tasks, including setup, organization, storage, and property preparation.
- Perform other tasks as required to support the successful operation of the property.

Qualifications





- Previous experience in hospitality, property management, campground operations, cottage rentals, maintenance, housekeeping, or guest services is considered an asset.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, organized, and welcoming spaces.
- Strong communication and guest service skills.
- Comfortable handling guest concerns in a professional and calm manner.
- Ability to perform physically active work, including walking the property, lifting supplies, carrying linens, restocking units, cleaning support, and outdoor maintenance tasks.
- Basic maintenance or handyman skills are considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage supplies, schedules, and priorities.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to operational needs as they arise.
- Comfortable working in a rural, waterfront, and outdoor setting.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Tobermory, Ontario, or relocate before starting work.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Seasonal, fixed-term position.
- Contract length: approximately 6 to 8 months, depending on operational needs.
- On-site accommodation may be available for the successful candidate, if needed.
- Opportunity to work in a beautiful waterfront setting in Tobermory, Ontario.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
