Position Summary: The Patient Admitting Clerk is responsible for the accurate and concise collection of information during the registration process, in compliance with provincial client registry best practices. Ensuring exceptional customer service, and professionalism are met,
the Patient Admitting Clerk is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient communication within the facility. The incumbent will ensure that organized and secure health records are maintained; is accountable for the correct identification and filing of patient reports, along with the maintenance of the health record deficiency system in accordance with the regional standards.

The Patient Admitting
nClerk provides facility support for retrieving health information, ensuring timely access, and maintaining an up to date chart location system. The incumbent ensures confidentiality in all matters relating to clients, staff and the organization, while working co-operatively in a matrix structure to support the functions of Health Information Services. The position of Patient Admitting Clerk functions in manner consistent with, and supports the mission, vision and values of the Interlake – Eastern Regional health Authority.n
Qualifications:

- Medical Office Assistant / Medical Secretary Certification
n
- Completion of a certified Medical Terminology Course
n
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
n
- Must be proficient with basic computer skills.
n
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in a health care setting preferred.
n
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
n
- Ability to effectively work in a team setting.
n
- Must be able to work independently
n
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.
n
- Satisfactory employment record.
n
