Help Shape the Future of Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Ontario

Public Services Health and Safety Association is seeking three (3)nexperienced, thoughtful and future-focused leaders to join its Board of Directors.

n

PSHSA is looking beyond the horizon to shape a future where health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace converge seamlessly. As Ontario’s public and broader public sector workplaces face increasingly complex challenges, PSHSA is focused on advancing prevention, fostering innovation, and building systems that protect and empower workers.

n

PSHSA is part of the infrastructure that helps Ontario’s prevention system work — not only today, but over time. Through training, consulting, resources, sector expertise, innovation and partnership, we help strengthen the knowledge, capabilities and connections that support safer, healthier workplaces across Ontario.

We are seeking Board Directors who can help guide PSHSA’s next chapter and contribute to our role as a trusted, prevention-driven organization serving Ontario’s public and broader public sectors.

nThe Role of the Board The PSHSA Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, fiduciary stewardship and governance leadership. Directors help ensure that PSHSA remains a strong, trusted and sustainable part of Ontario’s prevention infrastructure.nThe Board’s role is strategic, not operational. Collectively, Directors help guide PSHSA’s long-term direction, oversee financial sustainability and risk, support effective governance, monitor organizational performance, and ensure the organization continues to advance its mandate in service of Ontario’s public and broader public sector workplaces.n

The Board is composed of 12 Directors and is supported by two standing committees:

· Governance & Human Resources Committee

n

· Audit, Finance & Risk Committee

n

Directors are expected to prepare for and actively participate in Board and committee meetings, contribute constructively to strategic discussion, and bring sound judgment, curiosity and a commitment to good governance.

n

Who We Are Looking For

n

PSHSA is seeking candidates with senior leadership, governance, skilled, sector or lived experience that can strengthen the Board’s collective capability.

n

For this recruitment cycle, we are particularly interested in candidates who bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
