As a Deli Clerk with the Tofino Co-op, you are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the deli products. At Tofino Co-op, it is our priority to provide only the freshest and highest quality products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

n

n
- Prepare, wrap, price and stock product as required and assigned
n
- Move and put away freight upon arrival according to Health Standards
n
- Use of Deep Fryer, preparing hot meals for guests
n
- Maintain and display all types of meat products according to standards
n
- Provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperatures and clean equipment regularly
n
- Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the co-op and government legislation
n
- Advise the manager when orders for replenishment of inventory are required and ensure proper mark-down reports
n
- Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
n
- Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
n
- Provide outstanding courteous customer service
n
- Other duties as assigned
n

nQualifications:n

n
- Food preparation experience
n
- Excellent customer service skills
n
- Attention to detail
n
- A secondary school diploma is preferred
n
- Previous retail experience is considered an asset
n

nWorking Conditions:n

n
- Flexible - must be willing to work a variety of hours,



including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business
n

nPhysical Requirements:n

n
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
n
- Use of Deep Fryer, hot oil, as needed (with Proper PPE)
n
- Physically demanding; frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
n
- Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
n
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs
n
