Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental and health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
n
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and local environmental and OHS regulations.
n
- Oversee the OHS department and act as the primary advisor to management and staff on all related matters.
n
- Plan and conduct environmental audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs.
n
- Lead investigations of environmental and workplace incidents; prepare reports and ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.
n
- Collaborate with operational leaders to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and site inspections.
n
- Provide training and coaching to employees and leaders on safety standards, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.
n
- Manage workplace injury and illness claims (WCB/WSIB/STD/LTD) and support return-to-work and disability management processes.
n
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by government agencies.
n
- Act as a key point of contact for environmental consultants, government inspectors, and other stakeholders.
