We are searching for an Excavator/Screen Operator – Full-time, Seasonal to join our growing team in the historic mining Town of Buchans, Newfoundland and Labrador. Barite Mud Services Inc. (BMSI) values the safety and security of you and your family - Safety is our first priority.

Your responsibilities will vary, but will be mainly focused on the effective operations and safe usage of excavation machinery related to the running of our mining processes.

n

Responsibilities Summary

nReporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:n

· Operating an excavator, loader and skidsteer to maximize mine and mill operations

n

· Minimizing downtime by completing pre-use inspections and communicating with the Mine Operations Supervisor to ensure fast and efficient repairs.

n

· Greasing and checking the excavator and loader.

n

· Maintaining log sheets.

n

· Adhering to BMSI’s health and safety procedures and directives and participating positively in efforts to ensure the health and safety of all employees.

n

· Maintaining housekeeping on site at all times.

n

· Maintaining safe work practices.

n

· Start up, shut down and operation of screening equipment, keeping records of operating conditions and routine operational checks.

n

· Adjust/Move the tailings line by boat, as needed.

n

· Assist with maintenance/overhaul of pumps and equipment at the mine site or elsewhere as required.

n

· Fuel equipment regularly.

n

· Other tasks as required.

Qualifications





n· High School Education or GED Equivalent.n

· Ability to lift 20 KG.

n

· 3-5 years’ heavy equipment experience is preferred.

n

· Experience in the mining industry will be considered an asset.

n

· Experience with Rigging and Hydraulics will be considered an asset.

n

· Boaters Safety Course is required.

n

· Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

n

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.

n

· A team player that works well with others.

n

This position is located in Buchans, NL on a 10 days on, 4 days off, 9 nights on, 5 days off schedule.

n

All BMSI employees must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Further, upon joining BMSI, you will be subject to testing in accordance with our Alcohol and Drug Policy.

All BMSI employees will be required to provide a clear Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP, within two weeks of employment.
