The Igloolik Housing Association is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead their daily operations. This is a full-time, community-based position (40 hours/week) requiring residency in Igloolik.

The Role

nYou will oversee a diverse maintenance team to ensure the safety and quality of community housing. The workload for this position is comprised of approximately 60% administrative paperwork (reporting, procurement, and planning) and 40% hands-on technical supervision and field tasks.n

nRequirementsn

- Certification: Red Seal Journeyman Certification in a residential trade (e.g., Oil Burner Mechanic, Carpenter, or Plumber) with 5+ years of experience.
n
- Leadership: Minimum 5 years of proven experience supervising a crew of 10+ workers.
n
- Administration: Intermediate computer skills (Excel is essential). Experience in invoicing, job estimating, and developing scopes of work.
n




- Project Management: Knowledge of tendering, procurement, and asset management software.
n
- Physical & Mental Readiness: Ability to work in tight quarters and extreme Arctic cold. Must possess a strong work ethic and the ability to think critically under pressure.

- Licensing: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
n
- Compliance: Legally permitted to work in Canada. A satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

- Previous experience as a Housing Maintenance Manager.

- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.

- Previous work experience in Canada’s Arctic Region
