Position Overview:
We are hiring multiple team members for this position, with start dates beginning in late April and additional opportunities starting in June.
Raymond EMC is looking for hands‑on Technicians to build, assemble, test, and install products used in RF and EMI shielding applications. This role involves reading drawings, fabricating parts, welding, painting, and supporting in‑house installations. You’ll work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to make sure all work is done safely and meets specifications.
This position requires a criminal background check and the ability to obtain a Level II (Secret) security clearance with the Government of Canada.
Pay: $27.65/hour to start
Schedule: Mon–Thurs 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, Fri 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Location: 812 Burton Rd, Vars, ON
Time Off: 3 weeks paid vacation + 5 paid sick days

Experience:
- 3–5 years experience in fabrication or a similar role in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment
Requirements:
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Willing to complete a criminal background check after an accepted offer
- Able to obtain a Level 2 Government of Canada Security Clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade or construction‑related certification is an asset)
- Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication methods, tools, and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Physically able to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in various physical positions
- Understanding of safety procedures and the ability to follow them
Assets:
- Experience in RF shielding, electronics enclosures, or metal fabrication
- Experience working with brass, aluminum, stainless steel, or RF shielding materials
- Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) or EMI shielding applications or fabrication methods
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 or similar quality management system
- Experience with custom or prototype fabrication
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Cut, drill, fabricate, and assemble wood and metal components using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Weld metal components (TIG welding)
- Paint finished products and components
- Operate manufacturing and fabrication machinery safely
- Build products to specification, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper function
- Perform STC / RF testing as required
- Support in‑house installations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate with supervisors
