Windyview Mushroom Inc. is a year-round indoor specialty mushroom production facility in Sunderland, Ontario, growing King Oyster, Beech, Oyster, Maitake, and Shiitake mushrooms under the registered ESSE Mushrooms brand. We are hiring 3 full time permanent Mushroom Harvesters to join our production team. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Pick mushrooms (King Oyster, Beech, Oyster, Maitake, Shiitake) by hand from substrate blocks at correct cap diameter and stem length - Trim mushroom stems with a paring knife to remove substrate - Sort mushrooms by size, shape, and quality grade; remove damaged or off-spec mushrooms during the picking pass - Place sorted mushrooms in shallow harvest crates and transport to the packaging area - Weigh, fill, and seal retail packaging (clamshells, bulk cartons) to specified product weights - Apply lot codes and date stamps for traceability - Stack packaged product on pallets in cold storage at 2 to 4 degrees Celsius - Remove spent substrate blocks and clean growing shelves between crops - Sanitize knives, harvest crates, and harvest scales between rooms per SQF Edition 10 hygiene procedures - Operate hand trucks, scissor-lift platforms, and pallet jacks to move product within the facility - Participate in food safety training and HACCP recordkeeping REQUIREMENTS - No formal education or certification required - No English or French language proficiency required - tasks are demonstrated visually and supervised on the job; written materials are translated as needed - No prior experience required - comprehensive paid on-the-job training is provided - Physical ability to perform manual harvesting tasks: standing for extended periods on a concrete floor, repetitive picking and trimming motions,



lifting up to 15 kilograms unassisted, reaching across vertically stacked growing shelves - Manual dexterity sufficient to pick and trim mushrooms by hand without damaging product - Ability to work in a climate-controlled indoor environment (10 to 18 degrees Celsius) and to enter cold storage (2 to 4 degrees Celsius) for short periods - Reliable attendance to support our continuous 365-day production cycle WHAT WE OFFER - $17.60 per hour, paid bi-weekly, 40 hours per week, with overtime at 1.5 times regular wage after 44 hours per week per the Ontario Employment Standards Act - Employer-provided furnished housing (kitchen, bathroom, heating, electricity, internet included). Rental deduction is $30 per week per worker, in compliance with ESDC Agricultural Stream rules - 10 paid vacation days per year (4% vacation pay) - 9 paid public holidays per year - Personal protective equipment provided at no cost (non-slip footwear, cut-resistant gloves, N95 respirators, insulated jackets, uniforms) - All on-the-job training provided at no cost (SQF Edition 10 food safety, WHMIS 2015, harvest techniques, packaging, HACCP recordkeeping) - Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) coverage - Assistance with Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) registration WORK CONDITIONS - Indoor, climate-controlled mushroom production facility - Repetitive tasks,
