The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Water and Wastewater Facilities Director to oversee and advance our water and wastewater practices across Western Canada and beyond.

Our Water and Wastewater Facilities Practice is in a period of strong, sustained growth building on over a century of engineering excellence and a network of over 30 offices across Western Canada. We have a strong and well-established foundation, but the needs of our local communities continue to grow and they need our support. With deep local relationships already in place, this role is a unique opportunity to connect and elevate those strengths across regions.

Reporting to the Victoria Operations Leader (Branch Manager), this role will shape the future of our water and wastewater practice by providing enterprise-wide leadership, strategic growth, technical excellence and training and mentoring the next generation of water and wastewater leaders. The Director will mentor a distributed team of 20+ professionals, foster innovation, strengthen client relationships, and ensure McElhanney remains a trusted advisor for sustainable, technically sound solutions aligned with our Strategy 2030.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our communities while advancing high-quality, integrated water and wastewater solutions across the firm, collaborating closely with internal specialists including structural, electrical, environmental, mechanical, and water resources teams to deliver fully coordinated, innovative solutions. You will influence strategic growth, champion innovation, and help position McElhanney as the consulting firm of choice.

The position may be based out of any McElhanney office; however, preference will be given to candidates located in one of our larger offices such as Victoria, Vancouver/Langley, Calgary, Edmonton or Kelowna with the flexibility to travel periodically to other McElhanney locations as needed.
