JDS Energy and Mining is seeking experienced Blasters to apply for several open positions for a term Drill and Blast contract at the Equinox Gold, Valentine Gold Mine. The scope includes Production and Pioneering Blasting activities on site. The Valentine Gold Mine is one of Newfoundland’s newest mines to enter production, located near Millertown, NL approximately 230km southeast of Deer Lake. NL. The mine features In office Camp Accommodation, Cell Service, WIFI, Gym Facilities, and other notable amenities.

Schedule:

- Rotations will be 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.
- 12 hour days
- Nightshift and Dayshift
- Client Provided Charter pickup is in Millertown, NL.

Renumeration:

- Competitive pay with total compensation commensurate with working experience.
- Travel provided from nearest airport to employees Home
- Per Diem for Travel Days
- Mileage payment for travel to charter pick up location or nearest airport

Certificates/Qualifications:

- Blasting Certifications, Surface, Provincial
- All on site employees will be required to be able to get and maintain a valid driver’s license, TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), and WHMIS
- First Aid Training (OFA 1-3) would be considered an asset
- The ability to work in extreme weather conditions depending on the season
- All positions must be physically fit and able to lift up to 70lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
