K'(Prime)’s capabilities encompass chemistry, commercial security, scientific instruments sales, and airport imaging services, including X-ray and millimeter wave imaging. K'(Prime) delivers airport imaging equipment maintenance services at airports in all Canadian provinces and territories. We are seeking motivated, problem-solving individuals to join our team of over 125 highly skilled imaging technicians who play a crucial role in Canada’s aviation security. Position Summary: We are seeking hands-on individuals for the Imaging Services Technician role. Ideal candidates will have strong amateur or professional experience with the physical repair of electronics (e.g., computers, toys, appliances) and/or mechanical items (e.g., equipment, vehicles, machines). After completing in-depth training provided by K’(Prime), you will use these skills to maintain and repair airport imaging security equipment supported by the company.
Responsibilities
Ideal Candidates Will: • Demonstrate a history of hands-on physical repair or maintenance experience with electronic and/or mechanical systems. • Reside within one hour of Deer Lake Airport (YDF), including airport security clearance time (typically 15–20 minutes), and be available for on-site response 24/7, 365 days per year. • Complete the initial 6–8 months of training at St.
John’s International Airport, with relocation to Deer Lake required upon completion. • Hold a valid driver’s license for transporting equipment to work sites and have a minimum of three years of verifiable Canadian insurance history, as required to meet corporate vehicle insurance eligibility. • Be available to work irregular shifts, including mornings, days, evenings, nights, and weekends. • Be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) after a suitable background check. • Be willing and able to travel, up to 25% of the time, sometimes on short notice, to remote or isolated airports in Newfoundland and across Canada. These trips may involve air travel or, in rare cases, long-distance driving (up to 12 hours). • Be able to travel to the United States for work without requiring a U.S. visa. • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, day or night. • Be proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel) and comfortable using various software systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, to complete tasks in a timely manner. • Be available to travel to other parts of Canada (e.g., Calgary, Ottawa & Mississauga) to attend skilled training sessions ranging from a few days each year to several weeks, especially at the beginning of employment. • Be responsible for the shipping and receiving of parts,
as well as the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. • Be able to create Purchase Orders and complete Shipping Orders. • Help to support inventory management, including parts counts, and liaise with both the Western Imaging Services Centre (WISC) and the Eastern Imaging Services Centre (EISC).
Requirements
Physical Requirement: • Lifting and movement of up to 23kg. • Possess strong hands-on abilities, manual dexterity, physical strength, and stamina. • The capability to sit, stand for prolonged periods, walk, climb, reach, bend and maneuver around equipment and work areas is required. • Be able to work at heights and on ladders, as required. Additional Requirements: • A company uniform must be worn while on duty. • Candidates with only a high school diploma will be required to successfully complete an online technical course after receiving a job offer. • Passing this course and receiving the designation within 18 months from their start date, will be a condition for holding employment within the company. Additional Assets (not required): • Experience with coding or programming. • Adventurous mindset, ability to endure and thrive with frequent short-term deployments to northern or remote areas across Canada. • Languages Required: English- French is an asset • Most professional training will take place in Calgary/Ottawa/Mississauga and will be conducted in English. A strong command of English is essential to follow and succeed in the training. • French is an asset to the role Minimum Education: Graduate of a Technical School, or a High School diploma- but further courses will be required.
