Norfolk Disposal Services Limited is a family-owned business located in Waterford, Ontario serving Norfolk County and surrounding areas for over 60 years with Waste Management solutions.
To assist our current Mechanical/Tire Team that oversees our large fleet of commercial vehicles, a Tire Specialist/Technician is required to provide support.
This position is full-time permanent working Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 4:00 pm with as required Saturdays. Full-benefits and a pension plan are also part of the compensation package.
The successful candidate may be required to provide support to other areas of the Company that includes, but is not limited to our Welding, Transfer Station and/or Curbside Residential Pitchperson teams.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge, abilities and qualifications:
Tire Specialist/Technician
· Certification as a Tire, Wheel and Rim Technician or Mechanic in the Province of Ontario
· Knowledgeable about provincial Department of Transport regulations pertaining to wheels, rims, tires, etc. and the Ontario Health & Safety Act
· Valid Class “D” or Class “A” licence with a clean driving record (asset)
· 2 – 3 year’s experience as a Tire Technician
· Must be available to work day shifts, Monday to Friday and the occasional Saturday
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
· Must be reliable, will show up every day on time and be prepared to work indoors/outdoors – all weather conditions
· Must be able to work in a safe, courteous, qualified manner following applicable laws and company policies and procedures
· Jacking and joisting of vehicles safely, utilizing the proper equipment such as hosts, jacks, jack stands, blocking or cribbing.
· Inspecting and examining rims, tires, undercarriage in order to recommend the extent and nature of work to be completed.
· Removing different types of tire and wheel assemblies, security devices, clamps, spacers, etc. with the correct tools.
· Demounting tires from single rims using a variety of tools and equipment.
· Repairing tires using manufacturer’s specifications and by selecting appropriate repair techniques, materials and equipment.
· Mounting, installing and replacing tires, including single or multi piece rims using a variety of tools and equipment.
· Conducting final inspections to ensure that work on work order has been completed and meets company standards.
· If qualified, perform as required DZ Commercial driving tasks that include but are not limited Curbside Residential route and/or Bin deliveries.
Job Type: Full-time
