You will be responsible for producing our menu, ensuring that each dish is nutritious and cost-effective, and collaborating with a team of kitchen staff to deliver food that meets the highest quality standards.

To ensure success in your role as a cook, you should be an excellent leader with great organizational skills and impeccable time management. Top candidates will also be creative individuals, capable of creating standardized recipes that set us apart and keep people coming back for more. They contribute to meal quality and consistency by following designated recipes.

General Responsibilities:

- Oversee the kitchen shift team and operations
- Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
- Producing the menu, keeping in mind the budget.
- Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.
- Assist with training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
- Taking stock of ingredients, supplies, and equipment and recording orders to replenish stock.
- Promoting safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Use safe food handling practices at all times.
- Make sure staff clean the kitchen equipment and tools after each use
- Provides guidance to staff members
- Assists in organizing kitchen stock and ingredients
- Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
- Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours




- Assists in training current employees kitchen efficiency and standards
- Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality
- Ensures kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
- Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures
- Make proper use of all supplies, tools, equipment, and time
- Work well both independently and in a team environment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Other duties as assigned

Cook Requirements:

- Past experience as a working cook.
- Perfectionism in sanitation and quality control.
- Expert multitasking ability.
- Great leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to run stocktaking and record orders for resupply.
- Exemplary work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion and pride for delighting people with food.

Recommended Qualifications:

- Culinary school degree/diploma preferred .
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Works well independently and as an effective team member
- Excellent time management skills, results-oriented, takes initiative
- Experience preparing large quantities of food
- Experience in Restaurant, Resort and/or Camp setting
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Current Criminal Background Check

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
