This is a great opportunity for a motivated culinary professional in a remote, team-oriented setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, which includes chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and creating sauces and marinades.
- Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and customer requests.
- Ensure that all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and is safe to serve.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation by washing dishes and wiping down surfaces.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work ethic, even during busy and high-pressure situations.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Proficiency in cooking methods and procedures, as well as a solid understanding of knife handling skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Robust communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to read and follow cooking directions
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve cooking skills
Training, education and experience
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar role cooking in a restaurant, hotel or resort
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a culinary degree is preferred.
