On-Track Railway Operations is a Material handling company who have been proudly serving the railway industry for over 30 years. Located 20 minutes Northeast of Edmonton in Sturgeon County just off Hwy 37.
We are currently looking for a Journeyman, 2nd Yr, 3rd Yr, Apprentice Welder for full-time employment in our Sturgeon County shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all safety and Environmental rules and procedures
Perform welding/fabrication/repairs on chassis, Various rail car moving equipment, construction equipment, light duty pickup trucks, and attachments
Work with Shop Foreman and Field Supervisor to discuss equipment repairs and prioritize as required.
Actively take part in weekly safety meetings
Maintain a clean work environment
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Sound understanding of safety regulations,
safe work practices and work procedures
Robust problem solving and analytical skills
Strong time management skills
Ability to perform in adverse working weather conditions when required
Proficient use of oxy/acetylene torch, oxygen lance, GMAW, Tig, SMAW, hard surfacing and plasma cutting
Job Requirements
Journeyman ticket or proof of apprenticeship
Valid class 5 driver’s license
Willing to work overtime when required
Organized and self motivated
Comply with company pre-employment drug and alcohol policy and testing
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$38.00 per hour
