Title: Nurse in Charge - Nursing Station
Salary: $94,983 – $119,239 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time – 37.5 hours per week, we offer 2,3,and 4 week rotations
Location: Tahltan/ Telegraph Creek
Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About the role
As the Nurse in Charge, you will – Provide leadership of a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services within a First Nations community in program areas of community and/or public health, primary care, and home care through promotion and maintenance of the health of individuals, family groups, communities, and populations that value the principles of primary health care and focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health, as well as a focus on curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation,
and supportive or palliative care. You will provide professional guidance and assistance to community leaders and other community health care team members in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for First Nations partners and communities.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Successful completion of approved training in public health nursing or approved training in obstetrics, mental health, or some other speciality.
Experience
- Two (2) years of nursing experience.
Occupational Requirements
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNM).
- Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Must be Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM

You may have experience in;
- Experience in primary care, disease and injury prevention, health protection, curative, urgent and emergent care, medical / surgical, rehabilitation and supportive or palliative care.
BC Remote Certification
FNHA Community Health Nurse, have or are working towards Remote Certification (RNC) and can live anywhere in Canada.
If you are currently not Remote Certified, speak with us today on how we can help you obtain your RNC, with extensive training, travel and salary paid for while you’re pursuing your certification.

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
