Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be responsible for stewarding the strategic vision of the Strathcona Christie Aspen Community Association ("SCA CA") and managing daily operations and facility amenities.

The SCA CA is a not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents in Strathcona, Christie Park, and Aspen Woods. The SCA CA operates a vibrant Community Centre offering diverse programs, events, and recreational opportunities. The facility features multipurpose rooms, a gymnasium, rental spaces, and outdoor amenities like skating rinks, tennis courts, and playgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary liaison between the SCA Board and community members.
- Organize, attend, and participate in Board and Annual General Meetings.
- Schedule facility usage and manage rentals.
- Manage Staff & Volunteers, memberships and financial reporting.
- Ensure delivery of best-in-class programs and services for SCA CA members.
- Oversee the SCA CA’s online presence - website, social media, Google/Facebook reviews.
- Ensure qualified standards in safety, cleanliness, and accessibility.
- Establish annual goals and performance metrics aligned with the SCA CA’s strategic plan.
- Maintain operations, maintenance, and safety manuals.
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budget.
- Develop monthly financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Development and implementation of sponsorship & perks program for the SCA CA.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Cultivate a culture of exceptional customer service with clear protocols to measure success.
- Develop and implement programs and projects that increase community engagement and satisfaction.
- Maintain governance records, policy manuals, and ensure legislative compliance.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, City of Calgary departments, and partners.
- Collaborating with other Community Associations on co-branding events and synergies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Recreation Management, Business Administration, or equivalent is an asset.
- 3+ years progressive leadership or not-for-profit leadership experience.
- Experience in nonprofit governance and operations.
- Proven ability to foster a culture of customer service.
- A self-starter and creative thinker.
- Proficient in financial and project management and QuickBooks.
- Familiar with relevant legislation around bylaws and societies act.
- Firm understanding of public grant writing.
- Updated Police Background Check completed within the last six months
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s license and bondable.
- Understanding of MS Office, Communal & Canva is an asset.
Compensation & Hours
Strathcona Christie Aspen Community Association offers a competitive compensation package including benefit and RRSP allowance with a flexible 40-hour weekly schedule.
