THE OPPORTUNITY

The Integrated Youth Services Coordinator provides support to young people ages 11–25 and their families in accessing a range of services including physical health, mental health, substance use, peer support, social support, and Indigenous wellness. Reporting to the Supervisor of Integrated Youth Services, this position works collaboratively across healthcare, education, and community sectors to ensure youth and families experience low barrier, coordinated access to appropriate resources. The Integrated Youth Services Coordinator plays a key role in system navigation and program development helping youth and families connect with the right supports at the right time. This role is instrumental in reducing barriers and improving outcomes by ensuring coordinated services and meaningful program delivery.

This is a full-time, temporary position with a term end date of March 2029. The annual salary is $82,937.40-$98,589.40

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Service Delivery

- Provide direct support and advocacy for youth ages 11–25 and their families in accessing community, mental health, and wellness services.
- Assist youth, families, and service providers with navigation of referrals, intake processes, and available supports.
- Empower youth and families to actively participate in their own care planning and decision-making.
- Develop and deliver/facilitate a range of youth driven programs
- Contribute to the effective day-to-day functioning of the Integrated Youth Services model.
- Support and participate in community initiatives that enhance or expand youth mental health and community-based services.
- Use trauma-informed, youth-centred approaches to build rapport and ensure emotional safety.
- Conduct assessments and intakes, part of care management team in determining needs and management of such.
- Support role to KYAC (Kickstand Youth Action Council) as required.
- Ensure excellent service delivery and supports that meets the vision of the integrated service model, including evidence-based best practices, youth engagement principles, reporting frameworks, and related legislative requirements.

Collaboration and Partnerships

- Liaise with partners, service providers, youth, and families to strengthen coordinated service delivery.
- Provide warm hand-offs and follow-up to ensure smooth connections between youth, families, and appropriate service providers.
- Collaborate across healthcare, education, and community sectors to improve access and care pathways.
- Educate and assist youth, families, and service providers in understanding and navigating diverse programs, services, and referral processes.
- Promote mental wellness and positive health outcomes through community engagement and outreach.
- Key role in servicers aligned to peer support as developed.

Program Development and Coordination

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, care goals, and referrals within approved databases.




- Collect and report data to support evaluation of client outcomes and service effectiveness.
- Identify and share opportunities for partnerships, initiatives, or resources that foster youth mental health and wellness within the community.
- Communications lead of programs and services (Instagram, Webpage, Posters etc.) in partnership with Supervisor
- Develop and facilitate responsive, evidence-informed programs that address the evolving needs of Integrated Youth Services participants and the broader community.
- Key role in determining scheduling of programs and services and production of monthly program calendar.

Safety, Ethics, and Professional Development

- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with legislation such as Access to Information Act, Protection of Privacy Act, and the Child, Youth, and Family Enhancement Act.
- Participate in relevant training, including Indigenous cultural safety and trauma-informed care.
- Report safety concerns or incidents in alignment with policy and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Provide assessment and safety planning for high-risk situations, in consultation the Supervisor of Integrated Youth Services.
- Represents the City in a professional, respectful manner that supports positive public perception and reflects municipal values.

Other Duties

- Understand and adhere to City policies, procedures and standards, whether written or implied, as amended from time to time.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture by always acting in a safe manner and complying with City safety policies and procedures for staff and contractors.
- Act as a steward of the City's Corporate Culture by following the “Values, We Live By”.
- All employees shall act in a safe manner at all times and will report any unsafe conditions, procedures or acts for the benefit of the City. Continual adherence to the City Safety Policy is mandatory.
- Employees are expected to stay current on WHMIS and other safety-related procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

- Post-secondary degree in Human Services field.
- Candidates who have completed education in a discipline governed by Alberta’s Health Professions Act must be registered and in good standing with the relevant regulatory college prior to commencing employment. Proof of active registration will be required.
- Minimum two (5) years’ experience in youth-focused program delivery specific in the area of mental health and wellness.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working in multi-agency, integrated service models, primary care model.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, social service frameworks, and municipal policies.
- Training in trauma-informed care, youth engagement, and culturally safe practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, relational and communication skills.
- Strong facilitation skills.

Asset Qualifications:

- Mental Health First Aid Certification.
- Standard First Aid and CPR.
- ASIST Certification.
- Training in De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations.
- Experience working in multicultural or Indigenous contexts
- Knowledge of community resources, systems navigation, and social determinants of health.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in complex community settings.




- Demonstrated ability to identify needs, develop responsive programming, and advocate effectively.
- Experience with social media and marketing design.
- Experience working for a municipality and understanding of municipal policies.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

- Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Must obtain a satisfactory review of a three-year Driver’s Abstract, with a maximum of six demerits.
- Criminal Record Check Clearance.
- Vulnerable Sector/Child Intervention Check.
- Must maintain active licensing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (if applicable), including the requirement for ongoing professional development.

Working Environment:

- Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday in accordance with Kickstand Spruce Grove operating hours.
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekend work.
- Travel may be required.
- Working in an office environment, including direct interaction with youth and the public
